Clinical trials
Dr. Kumar has been a part of number of phase III trials. A partial list is noted below: 1.
Principal Investigator on Multicenter, Double Blind, Randomized,
Placebo- controlled, Parallel study to assess safety and tolerability
of Fexofenadine HCl (Allegra) 30mg in children with Allergic Rhinitis. 2.
Principal Investigator on a Multi Center, Randomized, Open Label, one
year long term safety study of Ciclesonide MDI 50 mcg/day to 200
mcg/day (ex-valve) administered once daily or Fluticasone DPI 50 mcg or
100 mcg administered for the treatment of children with persistent
asthma. 3. Principal investigator on a Randomized, Third party
blind, Multicenter trial comparing the efficacy and safety of Diflucan
(Fluconazole) for 3 weeks Versus Diflucan for 6 weeks Versus
Griseofulvin for 6 weeks given daily to pediatric patients with Tinea
Capitis. 4. Principal investigator on an Efficacy, safety and
Tolerability study of daily dosing with Levalbuterol, Racemic Albuterol
and Placebo in pediatric subjects with asthma.

OUR SERVICES:
We
provide comprehensive medical care for all from newborns till young
adults. Our office is equipped with state of the art secured electronic
health records system and access to vast pediatric knowledge and drug
database for the doctor at the "Point of Care". Well child visits, immunizations, screening for lead, TB, anemia, vision and others are available right here in our office. Physicals for sports, camps, school health, including the required screens are also routinely performed. If
your child is sick, acute care visits on the same day are available.
Patients with chronic illnesses like asthma and diabetes are cared for
in a "Medical Home" model. We have onsite Spirometry (for lung
function) and EKG. Laboratory services for blood, urine and other tests
are available through our office. Allergy testing and allergy
injections are also done in the office. We admit patients to
Centennial Medical Center in Frisco, Medical Center of Plano and
Presbyterian Hospital in Plano. If your choice for a hospital is
different we will work with other physicians to provide you with the
services. We are contracted with most major health insurance carriers and plans. Please click on the insurance tab on our home page for more details. ----------------------------------
OFFICE HOURS:
Our
office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am till 5:00 pm with
lunch break from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. We have Saturday hours also for
your convenience from 12 noon to 2:00 pm ----------------------------------
OFFICE VISITS:
Please
bring all available health information, immunization records,
medications and list of questions you may have for the doctor. Since
the initial visit may take as much as 30-45 minutes, please feel free
to bring items that may keep your child entertained. We try to keep your wait time to the minimum and we appreciate your assistance in keeping us on time. We
encourage electronic communications through our secured messaging
system for simple concerns and follow up questions. This service is
accessible from the home page by signing in and is available for our
established patients only. Please read the policy and agreement on the
website carefully prior to consenting and messaging. ----------------------------------
PRIVACY POLICY AND PATIENT RIGHTS:
We
comply with the HIPPA regulations and the detailed privacy policy is
under a separate tab on the home page. Please read the policy
carefully. ----------------------------------
AFTER HOURS:
Dr.
Kumar is available after hours for minor emergencies, concerns or
questions that cannot wait till the next business day. Please call the
office at 214-705-9696 to reach him. If your child is experiencing a
life threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest
emergency room. If your questions and concerns can wait till the next
day, please call us during office hours and we will answer them as soon
as possible. ----------------------------------
APPOINTMENTS:
We
appreciate visits with appointments so that we have time to prepare for
your visit. We understand, however, that on certain occasions you may
just have time to walk-in. Please be aware that we like to respect the
time of our patients who have scheduled appointments and so walk-ins
may have to wait. Appointments can be made through phone or secured
email by signing in on the homepage(only for established patients). If
for some reason you cannot keep the appointment, please call to cancel
so we may be able to provide care to another patient that may need to
be seen that day. Appointments that are not cancelled at least 4 hrs in
advance may be subject to $50.00 fee that will be your responsibility. ----------------------------------
MISCELLANEOUS FEES:

PAYMENT POLICY:
All
payments including the co-pays, co-insurance, non covered services,
self insured payments are payable at the time of service, unless a
prior arrangement has been made regarding the payments (only for
established patients). It is your responsibility to confirm if the
services are covered under your insurance plan ahead of the visit.
There is a discount available for self insured patients who make prompt
payments on the day of service. We will bill your insurance company for
the services rendered. Accounts that are 30 days past due will be
contacted for payment and accounts that are 90 days past due will be
forwarded to collections. As a convenience to our patients we accept
credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover) and
debit cards. Personal Checks are accepted and returned checks will be
charged $30.00 in addition to fees that may be charged by other
